Ingredients

  • 1 pound of mince
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsps of sriracha sauce
  • 4 tbsps of sweet chilli
  • 1 red chilli
  • kidney beans
  • half a jar of tomato passata
  • 2 tbsps of tomato puree
  • balsamic vinegar 
  • honey
  • brown rice

Method

Chef Adrian Martin shares a delicious Chilli Con Carne recipe with RTÉ Player Food Bites - perfect for when the gang are around or for munching with some top telly. Dice the onion and finely chop the chillies.

  1. Sweat it in a hot pan with oil until soft. 
  2. Add in the mince and sweat until golden brown and the fat is reduced off. 
  3. Add in some smoked paprika and cook out for 20 seconds. 
  4. Add in the tomato passata, tomato puree, balsamic vinegar and honey. 
  5. Finish off with the sweet chilli and sriracha sauces for some heat. 
  6. Boil your rice – cook for 8–10 minutes.
  7. Serve with optional grated cheese and some salad and of course enjoy.
