Gabriel Byrne has joined the cast of Lost Girls, a new true crime film from Netflix.
Lost Girls will reunite Byrne with his In Treatment and Louder Than Bombs co-star Amy Ryan, and the cast also includes Lola Kirke (Mozart in the Jungle), Thomasin McKenzie (Leave No Trace) and Reed Birney (House of Cards).
US entertainment industry website Deadline reports that Oscar-nominated documentary maker Liz Garbus (What Happened, Miss Simone?, The Farm: Angola, USA) will make her narrative feature directing debut with the film.
Based on Robert Kolker's non-fiction book of the same name, Lost Girls tells the story of the search for a missing woman which led to the discovery of the remains of ten murder victims on Long Island in New York.
Byrne was most recently seen on cinema screens in the horror Hereditary. He stars alongside Emma Stone and Jonah Hill in the current Netflix series Maniac.
