Taylor Swift appears to be referencing her current relationship in her moody new single ...Ready For It? which she released on Sunday.
The track is the latest to be released from Swift's upcoming album Reputation and follows the record-breaking Look What You Made Me Do, an edgy, biting song which saw her taking aim at those she feels have wronged her.
Swift continues to embrace her darker side on ...Ready For It? and seems to be referencing some of her past relationships, her serial-dater reputation and finding true love.
The track, which features a heavy, pounding bass contrasting with the light-as-air, catchy chorus, sees Swift refer to her new love as "younger than my exes but he acts like such a man", which many believe is a reference to her new boyfriend, 26-year-old British actor Joe Alwyn.

The singer-songwriter goes on to say that "no one has to know" about their relationship, which could be interpreted as a reference to the low-key manner in which they are seeing one another, compared to some of Swift's high-profile past relationships with music superstar Calvin Harris and actor Tom Hiddleston.
Further suggestive lyrics which are sure to be unpicked in numerous ways on Twitter include: "Every love I've known in comparison is a failure. I forget their names now. I'm so very tame now. Never be the same now."
Fans have been largely positive about...Ready For It? and it has toppled Look What You Made Me Do to head straight to the top of the iTunes chart in the US.
