The opening sequence and news headlines from the Six One News showing a new state-of-the-art studio for RTÉ News.

This broadcast of the RTÉ Six One News from 9 February 2009 unveils a new state-of-the-art studio for RTÉ News. The new studio includes a video wall which allows composite pictures of the RTÉ newsroom, and a view of the Dublin skyline or Leinster House to be used as a back drop to the news readers. It was constructed in eight days and cost €1.3 million. News presenter Bryan Dobson appears standing in front of a large video wall and co-presenter Sharon Ní Bheoláin is seated at the newsdesk. Sharon Ní Bheoláin's introduction of each news item is marked by swooping graphics and audio which separate each news item from the next. Swirling graphics in aquatic blue colours appear on the screen and merge in to the RTÉ News Six One logo.
