Is there such a thing as good modern architecture? Just one of the questions asked by 'Scratch Saturday' in this feature on architecture and design.
Scratch Saturday asks the question is there such a thing as good modern architecture. This clip looks specifically at the work of architect Sam Stephenson on the new Central Bank building on Dame Street and the new Civic Office buildings at Wood Quay.
The question is should we build modern buildings or concentrate on preserving old buildings.
The fact that Wood Quay was part of the Young People's programming schedule at RTÉ is testament to the impact the 'Save Wood Quay' campaign had in bringing archaeological heritage to the attention of all, young and old.
