On 17 May 1974, a series of car bombs exploded in Dublin and Monaghan killing 33 people and injuring almost 300 others. In one of the worst terrorist attacks of 'The Troubles' three bombs in Dublin exploded within short intervals of each other at different city centre locations.

John Cruise filmed this short piece showing the scenes of destruction at Parnell Street and Talbot Street, Dublin.

As a young man, John Cruise was a keen photographer and began to make 8 mm films after an uncle gave him a Super 8 Sanyo camera.
