Here is a handwritten news report by Gary Honeyford for RTÉ Belfast about the killing of RUC officer Martin Vance. The 33-year-old inspector was shot dead by the IRA outside his home in Crossgar, Co. Down.
Honeyford describes the killing and how the gunmen made their escape. He says that Vance's wife and child were home at the time but it's not yet clear where Vance was coming from.
