An Irish scientist has warned that predicted rises in the sea level will put low-lying communities at risk, including parts of Dublin, Cork, Bray, Belfast, and Galway. Bill Carter from the University of Ulster, who was speaking at a conference organised by the environmental group Earthwatch, also says global warming is likely to increase the number and intensity of Atlantic storms hitting Ireland.
