An anomaly in the finance bill prevents some disabled drivers from getting tax relief on cars converted for their use. Gerry O’Brien, a schoolteacher from Thurles, County Tipperary, had his car adapted at a cost of £7,000 sterling but gets no tax relief as he is judged not sufficiently disabled.
