The Minister for Justice Gerry Collins this afternoon denied that the Attorney General, John Murray, had over-stepped his powers by not allowing the case to go to the courts.
Report shows interview with Collins who says the Attorney General has the obligation to protect the constitutional rights of the individual. He says it is up to the British government to decide whether to proceed along the lines laid down in the Criminal Law Jurisdiction Act.
