The funeral of the Provisional Irish Republican Army member, Lawrence Marley, took place today in Belfast after a night of violence and destruction in the city.
The cortege leaves the Marley home for the church amid a strong Royal Ulster Constabulary presence. Mourners scuffle with the Royal Ulster Constabulary (RUC).
Father Gerry Reynolds of Clonard Monastery appealed for calm.
