Report on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in prisons, and a new unit for prisoners with AIDS at the Central Mental Hospital in Dundrum, Dublin.

The report includes an interview with an ex-prisoner on the threat of AIDS in prisons.

Dr James Walsh Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health believes the threat is far less than perceived.

A woman visiting Mountjoy who wished to remain anonymous describes the conditions in the prison. The mother of a prisoner who is also an addict says that her son is not receiving any treatment in Mountjoy.
