An account of the life of Irish poet and writer Patrick Kavanagh written by his brother.
No living person remembers Patrick Kavanagh better than his younger brother Peter Kavanagh. Reflecting on the poet's life, Peter Kavanagh says he was essentially happy and laughter was the basis of their lives. He has written and published a biography of his brother's life, 'Patrick Kavanagh, A Life Chronicle'.
He had waited for years for someone to write a biography but had done so himself feeling an obligation to pass on his memories of Patrick Kavanagh to future generations. He believes his brother stands alone in the whole sweep of Irish literature.
He's unique. He's the only Catholic poet, for instance, that Ireland ever produced.
