From virtual hugs to light relief, a much needed lift for the nation as record numbers tune in to this year's Late Late Toy Show.
1.7 million people watched on television and there were half a million online streams.
This year's Late Late Toy Show proved the biggest yet.
Presenter Ryan Tubridy said the show offered viewers laughter and kindness and he praised all the amazing children who took part.
While the show was a ratings winner for RTÉ, it also raised over €6.5 million for children's charities. Denise Charlton, Community Foundation for Ireland, paid tribute to the phenomenal generosity of the Irish people in a year made so difficult by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Children all over Ireland will benefit from the magic of the Toy Show.
Barnardos, Children's Books Ireland and the Children's Health Foundation will receive 50 per cent of the funds raised.
