Kilkenny farm raises turkeys outdoors fed on a natural diet to produce healthier and tastier meat.

Charlotte and Ben Colchester moved to County Kilkenny from England twenty six years ago. They grow vegetables on their organic farm near Urlingford, and raise turkeys for the Christmas market.

Their plans to farm without use of chemicals were met at first with disbelief. Now the Colchesters have fifteen years of organic turkey production behind them, Charlotte Colchester maintains that their product is a healthier and tastier turkey meat.

Animal welfare is a priority, and their flock of turkeys live outdoors are free to roam, graze and behave as they please, in as much space as they want.

The organic principles mean that both humans and animals on this farm have a good quality of life. This is in part due to the variety of work that goes into caring for animals and poultry, as well as growing and producing their own food,
