Work at Newgrange nears completion and the burial grounds will be opened to the public.
After twelve years of archaeological work, the ancient burial grounds at Newgrange in Boyne Valley, County Meath, have been restored by a team of experts.
The works were overseen by Professor of Archaeology Michael J. O'Kelly. A monument to the past the site which has a Neolithic passage tomb Restored will have a museum and once ready visitors will be welcome.
Valuable and fragile items discovered during the archaeological excavations have been removed. .
