Monaghan County Museum exhibits photographs commissioned to record change in the county.
'For The Record' is an exhibition of photographs that have been taken in a project organised by the Monaghan County Museum, the Camera Club and An Taisce. is open daily from 19 to 30 November.
Recognising that Monaghan is changing fast the museum decided the evolution should be recorded on film. A list of 400 sites around the county, along with map references and townland names was drawn up. Photographers from the Camera Club set to work documenting the sites and over an 18 month period 17,000 negatives have been produced for the museum. The heritage sites were chosen for their uniqueness and buildings in every town and village in the county are included in the collection. The 'For The Reord' exhibition is a display of 200 of these photographs.
