The last will and testament of Land League founder Michael Davitt can be viewed at the Public Records Office.

The Public Record Office of Ireland is open to everyone, and all that is required to locate a will is a name and date of death.

The last will and testament of Land League founder Michael Davitt has been held here since 1927. There is no record however of anyone having requested it.

Brendan Mac Giolla Choille is the Deputy Keeper of the Public Record and State Papers Office of Ireland. He believes that the public should be made aware of the existence of the will.

Michael Davitt left specific instructions regarding his burial arrangements, has words of farewell for his friends and a message of forgiveness for his enemies. His life’s work and ambition is dedicated to Ireland.
