Irish international Robbie Keane completes a £13 million transfer from Coventry to Inter Milan.

Less than a year ago, Robbie Keane was a reserve team footballer in the opinion of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson. The race to sign Robbie Keane made him the most expensive teenager in British football. He moved from Wolves to Coventry for £6 million.

Robbie Keane had impressed at international level, helping the Republic of Ireland under-18s win the European Youth Championships in Cyprus in 1998. He joined Wolves as an apprentice in 1994.

In six years, Keane has gone from cleaning the boots of his Wolves heroes to lining up as an equal with the likes of Ronaldo and Christian Vieri on Milan's millionaire row.

Brian Kerr says the determination and focus Robbie Keane has shown from a young age has taken him to playing in the best league in the world. Going to Inter Milan with a large number of star players, Brian Kerr worries that Robbie Keane may struggle to get regular games.
