An exhibition of portraits of Corkonians drawn by a Cork artist on show at Fota house.
Artist Kevin Sanquest as created 300 portraits of Corkonians past and present that have been put on show at Fota House in east Cork.
Among the famous faces are Michael Collins, Rory Gallagher, Danny LaRue and Maureen O'Hara.
She's graced dozens of Hollywood films but after tonight Maureen O'Hara's portrait will grace the walls of Fota House.
While Maureen O'Hara was born and raised in Dublin, she has very much been adopted by Cork and considers herself a Corkonian.
Kevin Sanquest completed the two portraits a week in preparation for the exhibition.
Part of a project to catalogue Cork's great and good dating from the 1600s.
Each image includes information about the individual and their connection with Cork.
The project was the brainchild of a local business man who would like to extend the project nationwide. Michael Mulcahy of RSVP Media Group says they have engaged a researcher and a historian in each of the 31 other counties nationwide. The researcher and historian are giving their services on a voluntary basis to develop a collection for each county similar to what has been done in Cork.
Kevin Baird of the Irish Heritage Trust says the exhibition provides a great way for visitors to discover Fota House.
