A new exhibition gives an insight to history within the walls of Dublin Castle using a range of objects.
The Dublin Castle 800 exhibition has aretefacts dating from the 16th century among the items on display are a wig curler, pipes and stone jars. Denis McCarthy, Office of Public Works, takes reporter Sinéad Crowley on a tour of the exhibition.
There's a lot of history contained within those castle walls.
Also on show are a presidential chair and a Colt 45 gun which once belonged to Michael Collins.
Minister of State Tom Parlon says that while Dublin Castle is already a major tourist attraction, the exhibition should also appeal to Dubliners and visitors to the castle.
The exhibition runs until April and is open to the public free of charge.
