Cork students use self taken photographs to promote positive relationships and raise money for charity.

Transition year school girls from St Angela's College in Cork hope to set a world record and raise money for a local support group Mná Feasa which helps victims of domestic violence. Almost €12,000 euro has already been pledged to the online campaign.

You've heard of the selfie. Well, wait for it, here comes the relfie.

Student Megan Moynihan, says a relfie is a selfie taken with someone you have a healthy relationship with.

It shows all the positive qualities in a relationship.

For Alice Creed, the qualities of a healthy relationship include loyalty, honesty, trust and love.

Over the past ten days, over 6,000 relfies have been posted using the hashtag #relfieworldrecord.

Róisín Creed says the initiative has had the positive participation of men and boys. Rhona Pierce is encouraged that so many people not known to the girls are getting involved in the project.

For every relfie posted, €2 is promised to Mná Feasa who are overwhelmed by the response to the campaign. Ann O'Mahony, Mná Feasa, says the message is getting out that relationships need to be healthy.

The students plan to create a massive advertising billboard featuring all the relfies uploaded.
