A touring exhibition showing the importance of the environment is part of Ireland's participation in European Conservation Year.

1970 is European Conservation Year as part of Ireland's participation, a mobile exhibition has opened in a 24 foot caravan on Leinster Lawn in Dublin.

Taoiseach Jack Lynch attended the launch of the exhibition. The Taoiseach will be the Irish representative on the European Board of Patrons for Conservation Year. The exhibition was officially opened by Seán Flanagan, Minister for Lands.

The display has photographs of scenic beauty and scientific interest from across Ireland.

Speaking at the launch, Seán Flanagan pointed out issues facing the Irish environment and highlighted some questions which need answers.
