A headstone is unveiled at the grave of composer Seán Ó Riada.
Seán Ó Riada, who died on 3 October 1971, was described by Aindreas Ó Gallchobhair, head of Radio na Gaeltachta, as one of the really remarkable men of his generation.
The Ó Riada family were joined at the graveside by hundreds of people who had come to pay tribute to the composer at St Gobnatan's cemetery in Ballyvourney. The headstone was designed by Seamus Murphy RHA. The inscription on the stone read simply

Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh, Judge of the European Court, also paid tribute to Seá Ó Riada saying that he was held in a position of honour. Poet Domhnall Ó Liathan read the poem 'Don Leacht'.
The unveiling followed a mass at Collea Church.
