Folk singer Albert Fry introduces Séamus Begley (Ó Beaglaoich) on accordion and his sister Máire Ní Bheaglaoich on acoustic guitar from the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht who perform 'An Ciarraíoch Mallaithe' (The Cursed Kerryman). Often described as a love song, the singer is a travelling worker who does his best to convince a woman of means to come away with him on his travels.

‘An Ciarraíoch Mallaithe’ is also the title of an album of songs and airs from the Dingle peninsula recorded by Máire and Séamus Ó Beaglaoich in 1973 and released by Gael Linn.

In the 1970s Christmas specials in the form of traditional music programmes were recorded for the RTÉ’ Christmas schedule and broadcast under the title of ‘Togha Agus Rogha’.
