Bray initiative looks to provide assistance for local business ventures and to generate employment.
The Made In Bray exhibition organised by the local chamber of commerce was opened by Taoiseach Garret FitzGerald at the St Thomas Community College. Chamber president Gerry McGuinness presented the Taoiseach with an original drawing of the FitzGerald old family home in Bray. The house no longer exists and the drawing was created from photographs.
On display are products manufactured and used in the Bray area. The Irish Goods Council continue an import substitute programme showing items which could be made by local industry.
The Made in Bray exhibition is essentially a self-help scheme.
The exhibition is open to the public until Saturday night. Made in Bray also features talks from businessmen about creating products for export and encouraging entrepreneurs into manufacturing.
