Large crowds turn out in Listowel to see who will be awarded the all Ireland wren boy titles.

The Listowel Harvest Festival is the setting for the Wren Boys competition. Thousands crammed into the square in Listowel, for the All Ireland Wren Boy Championship featuring a torch-led procession through the town..

It was victory again for the Brosna Group from North Kerry who took the title for the fourth time. King of the Wren Boys, Captain Paddy Fitzgerald, from last year removes his medal and places it on the new King, Jimmy Hennessy, captain of the Killocrim Group. Both men wear full costume. The master of ceremonies at the event was John B Keane.
