Young people from across the country will take part in the National Community Games finals.
Over 5,000 young people from 29 counties will compete in the 14th National Community Games finals at Mosney in County Meath. During the opening ceremony, teams filed passed the rostrum in their county colours accompanied by the music of four bands.
Competition events will be run throughout the week with the major field and athletic finals taking place next weekend.

Competitors from Laois won the RTÉ Radio 2 prize for the best presented county on parade. Once the flame was burning in the bowl of light the games were declared open.
The sporting events commenced with competitors taking to the swimming pool, the playing fields and the gym.
It's a big achievement for all the participants. They've already qualified at local and county level to get to Mosney.
The President of Ireland, Dr Patrick Hillery will visit the games tomorrow.
