Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Tánaiste Mary Harney give their reaction to the vote on the Good Friday Agreement.

Speaking on the RTÉ Radio 'This Week' programme, Bertie Ahern said that there must now be a move away from violence. He is confident that peace can be achieved.

Ordinary people in a community want to see the IRA out of their hair, they want to see the loyalist murder gangs out of their hair.

Tánaiste and leader of the Progressive Democrats Mary Harney hopes that those in Northern Ireland who campaigned for a no vote will now row in behind the elections to the Northern Assembly. She said they need to respond to the democratic wish of the people.

The Tánaiste also reflects on the results of the Amsterdam Referendum and said there may now be a need to amend the constitution.
