The original arrangement for the opening performance of George Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' was written by Ferde Grofé.
Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' marks that famous link between jazz and so-called classical music.
Ferde Grofé was the staff arranger with the Paul Whiteman band at the Aeolian Hall in New York.
