The Galway Arts Festival offers music, theatre, visual art and street performance from Ireland and abroad.

Expected to attract 150,000 visitors to the city, the Galway Arts Festival is estimated to be worth €18 million in tourist revenue to the region.

Spectacular street carnival, explosive energy, and an ability to delight and surprise in new ways each year have made the Galway Arts Festival one of the world's great festivals.

Galway, a place where almost anything can happen and does happen.

Artistic Director Paul Fahy says that one of the great things about the festival is that there is something spectacular around every corner in the city.

Patrick McCabe's haunting new play 'The Revenant' is one of the highlights of this year's festival. The writer recalls his early years coming to the festival and how it has now become a global phenomenon.
