13,072 women take part in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon.

Aerobics instructor Gladys O'Connor from Rathfarnham led the warm up for those taking part in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon

The weather did little to dampen the spirits of the participants.

Some of the women have been training for the event for months, others take it a lot less seriously. Most of the women use it as an opportunity to raise money for charity.

First across the line was Dubliner Catherine Harris of Dublin City Harriers in a time of 34 minutes 29 seconds. In second place was Niamh Murphy from Westport with Joanne Power of Dublin City Harriers coming in third. Catherine Harris has taken part in the race for the last seven years and is delighted with her win. She now plans to compete in the Dublin City Marathon.
