International protest as France decides to go ahead with nuclear testing.

Street theatre is the latest in a series of events organised by the environmental group Earthwatch to protest at  France's decision to resume nuclear testing.

There's a protest on the streets of Dublin as the nuclear bomb makes its return to the political landscape.

Protesters also took their message to the gates of the French Embassy in Dublin.

Similar objections were voiced in the South Pacific where environment ministers were meeting to discuss the French decision. President of Nauru Bernard Dowiyogog, New Zealand Environment Minister Simon Upton, Australian Nuclear Scientist Professor Helen Garnett and Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating all expressed their opinions, Paul Keating said,

I think the government of France has misjudged international reaction to this.

Despite protests around the world and a growing call to boycott French products, France seems determined to go ahead with testing.
