A large object partly submerged in a Galway lake has the public and authorities wondering what it is and how it got there?

The mystery object has been found in the middle of a Connemara lake and locals and Gardaí are hoping to get to the bottom of how it got there.

Nobody knows what it is or where it came from.

The odd looking broken cylinder was discovered in a small lough in a bog near the village of Barna. Gardaí say that they do not yet know how it ended up here. However the investigation is being taken seriously enough to have the mystery item examined with a Geiger counter. Preliminary investigations suggest that the cylinder is probably empty.

One of the biggest curiosities is how it ended up in the lake as the nearest road is almost half a mile away. Two possible suggestion are the Connemara flying saucer theory or that the object may have fallen from a passing aircraft.
