RTÉ Archives wishes Eamon Morrissey a very Happy 70th Birthday.

Eamon has played many roles on stage and screen including a Broadway production of 'Philadelphia, Here I Come', and Arthur in the film 'Eat the Peach’. His outstanding one-man show 'The Brother', has meant that Eamon Morrissey really is your only man when it comes to adapting and interpreting the satirical writings of Brian O'Nolan (Flann O'Brien/Myles na gCopaleen).

On television Eamon won a Jacob's Award for his work on ‘Hall's Pictorial Weekly’ including the Minister for Hardship while more recently he is appearing in the RTÉ soap opera 'Fair City' as Cass Cassidy.

In this clip from 'Halls Pictorial Weekly' Eamon plays a journalist reporting from the 'Government Inflamation Service' press reception where he interviews a drunken Senator and a strategic Minister. Eamon drunkenly opens with "Here I am at the Department of something or other...waiting to interview the Minister for what's it..."

This episode of 'Halls Pictorial Weekly' was first broadcast on 21 March, 1978 and included appearances from Frank Kelly, Pat Daly, Frank Duggan, Michael Twomey, Paul Murphy and Eileen Duggan.
