The event was launched today at the RDS, which was a hive of activity as horses, super cute ponies and models all joined Minister Shane Ross to announce details of the five-day equestrian extravaganza, which will celebrate it's 143rd birthday.

Each year 100,000 people gather to enjoy everything the horses and ponies have to offer from National Show Jumping to International Show Jumping, from Showing and Performance Classes to Exhibitions. The Dublin Horse Show is one of Ireland’s premier sporting and social events, attracting crowds from home and abroad.

RTÉ LifeStyle were there for the launch - here's a look at those horses, wee ponies and cute jockeys at the launch.

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross met Greg Broderick who will be representing Ireland in Show Jumping at the 2016 Rio Olympics in August.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes action from the photo call.

On Thursday July 21, the Horse Show will welcome the Dundrum Town Centre Ladies Day which will feature a number of categories including the Best Dressed Lady and model Louise O'Reilly will be one of the judges.

The 2016 Dublin Horse Show will take place from July 20 to 24 at the Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
