Exploration company Tullow Oil says one of its wells in Uganda has struck oil. The Nsoga-5 appraisal well is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 2.
The well is part of a programme of drilling in the area, aimed at finding out the production potential in the greater Nsoga area.
Tullow has interests in three licences in the Lake Albert Rift Basin in Uganda. Tullow operates Block 2 with a 100% interest and has a 50% interest in Blocks 1 and 3A which are operated by Heritage Oil (50%).
