Killarney-based company Monex says it has signed a deal with car rental firm Hertz which will lead to 14 new jobs at the company.

Monex provides software which will allow Hertz customers to convert their credit card payments into their own currency wherever they pay.

The company says the deal will add €1.5 billion to the amount it processes on behalf of customers, which also include Ryanair and the Dublin Airport Authority.

Monex will create 14 new jobs in Ireland and other countries as a result of the contract.

Monex, established in 1997, operates in 19 countries and employs 150 people.
