Total takes stake in Tullow project

French oil company Total has taken a 25% stake in Tullow Oil's Guyane Maritime Permit in French Guiana.

The site, about 150km off the coast of French Guiana, covers an area of approximately 32,000 square kilometres.

Tullow's subsidiary Hardman Petroleum France SAS will continue to be the operator of the permit with a 39.5% interest.

Meanwhile, Kosmos Energy, the operator of the Odum-2 appraisal well off Ghana, has confirmed the company's Odum oil discovery made in early 2008 after the latest drilling activity. Tullow has a 23% stake in the site.
