NIB wins €8.5m Kelly judgement

National Irish Bank has been granted judgement in the sum of just over €8.5m against property developer Paddy Kelly's company RQB Ltd. The order was made by Mr Justice Daniel Herbert in the High Court this afternoon.

The bank had been seeking the order against Mr Kelly and two businessmen, Niall McFadden and Paul Pardy, over personal guarantees for a €12m overdraft facility for the company.

Mr Kelly told the Commercial Court earlier this year he was considering bankruptcy. Judgement orders for almost €100m have been secured against him.
