Indo Indian arm's Q1 profits dip

The Indian newspaper publisher in which Independent News & Media has a 20.8% stake, has reported net profits of 316.5m rupees (€4.7m) for the first quarter of its financial year. This was down from €6.2m in the same period last year.

Total revenue at Jagran Prakashan was up 12.6% on a year earlier to €31.7m. Advertising revenue grew by 10.5% to €21.5m, while circulation revenue was up 8.2% to €7.3m.

The company publishes India's largest daily newspaper Dainik Jagran.
