Tom Hickey is to resign as chief financial officer of exploration and production company Tullow Oil. He will also leave the board.
A statement from the company said his decision was due to his desire to live full-time in Ireland. Tullow has been growing rapidly in recent years and is now based in London.
'Tom believes that it would not be possible for him to continue to fulfil the demands of his role from Dublin,' the company said. Tullow said Mr Hickey would stay in his role until a suitable replacement had been found.
It is currently expected that Mr Hickey will leave sometime after the company's interim results in August and before the end of the year.
