United Drug makes big $10.5m acquisition

Healthcare services group United Drug has bought a US-based pharmaceutical sales and marketing company for up to $10.5m.

Alliance Healthcare Information is based in Ivyland, Pennsylvania and provides call centre solutions staffed by medically trained professionals to support pharma companies in the US.

The business currently employs 163 people.
The consideration is $9.5m in cash, plus additional consideration of up to $1m  linked to the achievement of targets over the next year.

United Drug's CEO Liam FitzGerald said the acquisition brings additional scale to the company's existing US business and will allow us to broaden our service offering there.
