Shareholders at Providence's AGM today were given an update of the company's activities.
They heard that the exploration company will commence appraisal drilling on its Hook Head Project in the Celtic Sea later this summer, and that it will acquire the majority of the producing singleton field, onshore UK.
They also heard that the company's project in the Gulf of Mexico is on schedule for start-up production in August and the next stage of its project Nigeria is anticipated to be announced in the coming months.
Chairman Brian Hillery said :'I am particularly pleased with the prospect of the imminent drilling programme at Hook Head, which marks a major milestone for Providence. I believe Providence is now extremely well placed to develop, and ultimately, capitalise on its extensive asset portfolio."
All resolutions proposed for consideration were approved by shareholders.
