New jobs at software and gaming firms

80 new jobs have been announced at two separate projects in Dublin and Cork.

In Cork Irish technology company Nitrosell is to create 51 jobs over four years at Airport Business Park. Nitrosell, which helps retailers create online shopping websites, already employs 16 people.

It will shortly complete a €1.5m round of fund-raising aimed at helping it to expand into Europe, South America and Australasia.

Meanwhile, Japanese online games company Gala Inc is to set up a European Headquarters at the Digital Hub in Dublin. It plans to hire 32 people over the next three years to cope with the large number of Europeans downloading its games.

Gala provides games for free, and users pay only when they decide to buy 'items' such as costumes or weapons within the games.
