Building materials group CRH is expanding its business in Switzerland with the €328m (CHF 540 million) acquisition of Getaz Romang.
CRH said in a statement to the Irish stock exchange this evening its public tender offer for Getaz Romang, which had the backing of the Swiss group's board, was successful and it now controls 96.7% of the company.
CRH said the move will create one of the largest builders merchant businesses in Switzerland, and the two businesses will have annual sales of over €0.91 billion (CHF 1.5 billion).
Earlier today CRH also announced deals worth a total of €225m in Turkey and the US.
In Turkey, the company has acquired 50% of Denizli Cement from privately-owned group Eren Holdings. CRH will run the business as a joint venture with Eren.
Denizli has a cement plant and 13 readymix concrete plants in the Aegean region of south-west Turkey. This is CRH's first investment in the country.
Meanwhile, CRH has exercised an option to buy out the remaining 50% stake in Paver Systems in Florida.
