Irish broadband service provider Digiweb has won a licence to provide mobile wideband services in Norway.
Mobile wideband is a type of 3G mobile network that supports fast data transmission speeds and a range of multimedia services.
Charl Tintinger, of Digiweb, said :'securing another WDMDS license in Norway is an important move for Digiweb and is a natural progression for the network given the demographic, population size and culture in Norway.'
The license is identical to that which Digiweb secured in Ireland and the first phase of the network is to be launched in Ireland shortly.
Digiweb says the technology is capable of providing 100% geographic broadband coverage in Ireland.
