Dublin office rents up 43% - Lisney

A new report by international property group Cushman & Wakefield shows that Dublin is now the sixth most expensive location for office space.

Dublin jumped from 12th position in 2006 in the survey, which compares costs in 211 locations in 51 countries.

The report says occupancy costs in Dublin are €823 per square metre a year, with rent accounting for just over three-quarters of this. Estate agent Lisney says average rents have risen by 43% in just over a year.

London retains its ranking as the most expensive city, with total costs of €2,009 a year per square metre. Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris and Mumbai complete the top five, while Milan and New York are now below Dublin.
