ComReg has withdrawn its direction on local loop unbundling issued to Eircom in January.
The matter had ended up before the High Court when Eircom sought a judicial review confirming the company's right to appeal a ComReg enforcement notice in relation to the matter. That review was successful in Eircom's favour.
A statement on ComReg's website this afternoon says that Eircom will provide a response to the communications regulator and the industry by October 24 in relation to access to local telephone exchanges.
