This episode of 'Access' titled 'Go Navy' looks at the operation and training of the Irish Navy Service at Haulbowline, Cork.

I just had an urge to go to sea. I wanted to do it. It was an ambition.

In the opening sequence to the programme the crew line up on deck as the L.E. Emer heads out to sea. Recruits talk to Cianna Campbell about why they decided to join the navy and the recruitment process.

Back on shore at the naval training base in Haulbowline we see a training drill. Officers and crew of the Irish Naval Service, Mick Smullen, Tony Hughes, Alan Kennan, Eugene Cloonan, Captain Jordan, Dermot Woods and Frank Allen all feature in the programme.
